Copilot Memory Missing in Microsoft 365 App — This Is a Design Failure

I am a Microsoft 365 Family subscriber and the admin on my account, and I need to call out a major design failure in the Copilot experience.

Copilot inside the Microsoft 365 app does not support the Memory feature, while the standalone Copilot app does. These two products share the same name, branding, and purpose, yet they deliver different features, different settings, and different levels of functionality. This is not a minor inconsistency — it is a fragmented and disjointed user experience.

There is no justification for offering premium Copilot features to paid Microsoft 365 subscribers while withholding core personalization capabilities like Memory in one version of the app. Users should not have to install multiple versions of Copilot to access features that should be universal. This is not a preference issue; it is a basic product coherence issue.

Microsoft needs to address this directly:

• Unify the Copilot experience across all Microsoft 365 and standalone apps.

• Ensure feature parity for paid subscribers.

• Make Memory available everywhere Copilot is available.

The current state is confusing, inconsistent, and unnecessarily frustrating. This needs to be fixed.
