How do I access/restore My Portfolio in MSN Money?

In the past week or so I've had some trouble accessing My Portfolio. Now I can't get into it at all.
I've tried everything I know. I also tried to get into it with my phone using a different browser and it's still not working.

I sign in. Go to my Watchlist. Highlight the Watchlist and then choose Portfolio.
All I get is a spinning circle like it's working on it or a page stating the page I'm looking for doesn't exist.

It usually times out and opens the Money homepage where I go through all of the signing in to the Watchlist page again and having the same result over and over.

I feel like a dog chasing his tail.

Thanks

Hi Curtis Haby,

I'm sorry you're dealing with such a frustrating issue, and you don’t seem to be the only one. I have seen other recent reports from MSN Money users who encounter similar situation when attempting to open Portfolio (e.g. WHEN I CLICK MY “WATCHLIST”/ “PORTFOLIO” , IT STATES CANNOT BE FOUND/NOT EXIST? - Microsoft Q&A)

Based on your testing, since the issue occurs across multiple devices and browsers, this may be a service-side issue rather than something you can correct locally. Still, a couple of things are worth verifying first before getting to that:

  1. Confirm you're signed into the same Microsoft account that originally created the Portfolio.
  2. Try opening directly from the MSN Money website instead of using saved bookmarks / links.
  3. Check with another network. If you’re using Wi-Fi, try changing to mobile hotspot if possible.
  4. Change your DNS: open Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi/Ethernet > your network DNS:
    1. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google)
    2. 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 (Cloudfare)
  5. Use a third-party VPN tool (for example, WARP free plan is generally enough for a quick test).

Disclaimer: This is a non-Microsoft service. Thoroughly research the website before you decide to download it. Microsoft makes no guarantees, implied or otherwise, about the information you receive from the third-party linked sites or any support related to technology.

If after trying all of the above and the issue with Portfolio still persists, I would recommend using the MSN Money feedback option to report the issue directly to the engineering team:

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Look for Feedback / Send Feedback if available.
  • Describe the issue clearly (screenshots are appreciated).

I wish I could give a more direct solution, but Microsoft Q&A is just a community forum. If the issue is server-side, contributors here do not have access to account data or the backend systems of MSN Money to proceed further.

I did get My Portfolio to work by using Edge as a browser. My default that I've used for years is Chrome.
Evidently something with MSN Money or Chrome had changed and they will not work together.
I did also have to login in with my MSN account.
I have 2 computer profiles and Edge was trying to log me in with a profile that didn't have an account.
I hope this can help someone save a lot of time.
