Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Use the Outlook.com support and Microsoft account support channels that do not require loading Hotmail/Outlook in the same browser session.
- Use the Outlook.com help/contact entry point
- Go to the Outlook.com help entry point directly: click the support entry described as “click here” in the Outlook.com help article: Get help with Outlook.com.
- If Outlook.com itself will not load in your normal browser window, try opening that link in a different browser profile or device where you are not already signed into Outlook.com.
- In Outlook.com, select Help on the menu bar, enter the issue (403 error when accessing Hotmail/Outlook), then scroll down to Still need help? and select Yes to reach Contact Support or Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
- Use the “can’t sign in” contact path
- If unable to sign in to Outlook.com at all, use the dedicated “can’t sign in” contact path referenced in the Outlook.com help:
- From the same help article, use the “If you can’t sign in, click here” link (this is a separate support path that does not require Outlook.com to load).
- Follow the prompts to describe the sign‑in/access problem (403 error) and reach support.
- If unable to sign in to Outlook.com at all, use the dedicated “can’t sign in” contact path referenced in the Outlook.com help:
- Use Microsoft account & billing support
- For broader Microsoft account issues (including Outlook.com access), use the Microsoft account & billing help entry:
- Go to Account & Billing Help from the support article.
- From there, follow the flow to Contact Support, choose the Microsoft account product category, and then select a contact option such as chat in the browser.
- For broader Microsoft account issues (including Outlook.com access), use the Microsoft account & billing help entry:
- Use the generic Microsoft products help entry
- If the above paths still loop, use the generic Microsoft products help entry:
- From the help article, select the option to “enter your problem here.”
- Type a short description such as “403 error when accessing Outlook.com/Hotmail; browser cache cleared; private mode used; still blocked.”
- Scroll down to Contact Support and choose the available contact method (typically web chat).
- If the above paths still loop, use the generic Microsoft products help entry:
- Community support as a fallback
- If direct support options are limited, post the issue (including the exact 403 message and browsers tried) in the Outlook.com Community referenced in the help article. Other Outlook.com users and moderators can provide additional guidance.
These paths allow contacting Microsoft without relying on the Outlook.com web app itself, which is currently returning 403.
