I'm unable to change my legal name in Microsoft portal

To align the legal name for a GitHub (GH) 300 certification exam with government ID when there is no last name, update the Legal name in the Microsoft Learn profile and, if needed, contact Credentials Support.

Steps to update the Legal name and remove the last name:

1. Sign in to the Microsoft Learn profile that is associated with the GH 300 exam.
2. Go to Settings for the Learn profile: https://learn.microsoft.com/users/me/settings.
3. In the Legal Name section, update:
   • First name: Partheban
   • Last name: use an underscore character _ as the last name placeholder, as recommended.
4. Save the changes.

If an exam is already scheduled (as in this case):

1. After updating the Legal name in Learn settings, if a message appears instructing to contact Certification/Credentials Support, follow that link.
2. Use the Credentials Support form to request that the legal name for the scheduled exam be updated to:
   • First name: Partheban
   • Last name: _
3. Be prepared to provide government-issued ID details if requested by support.

If the portal does not allow changing the Legal name directly (for example, due to an existing booking), contact Credentials Support immediately using the guidance under How to contact support and submit a support request for a legal name correction.
