Outlook for Mac Bug – Original Message Not Included When Replying
Product: Microsoft Outlook for Mac
Description of the issue:
After updating Outlook for Mac on [date], replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Outlook for Mac.
Select any received email.
Click Reply.
A new reply message opens.
The original email content is not included in the reply.
Expected behavior:
The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings.
Actual behavior:
The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included.
Additional information:
The problem started immediately after the latest Outlook update.
The issue occurs with all emails tested.
My email data is stored locally in Outlook on my Mac.
The problem did not exist before the update.
Restarting Outlook does not resolve the issue.
System information:
- Outlook version: Version 16.110 (26061317)
- macOS version: Apple M3 Pro
- New Outlook
Impact: This issue significantly affects email workflows because replies no longer contain the context of the original correspondence.
