Outlook View Settings > Conditional Formatting > Field > Filter

I understand that you want to color all messages from a sender domain, such as gmail.com or hotmail.com, in red by using Classic Outlook for Windows through View Settings > Conditional Formatting > Field > Filter. I’m happy to help.

Could you please confirm the following:

• Is the account added as Outlook.com/Exchange, POP, or IMAP?
• Are you trying to color messages by the sender’s actual email domain, or only by the display name shown in the From column?
• Do you want this to apply only to the Inbox, or to all mail folders?

If From, Email Account, and Email Address Type do not work for the domain in your current view/filter setup, there is no current alternate Conditional Formatting field that filters only by sender domain in Classic Outlook. The practical options are:

• specific sender formatting,
• keyword-based formatting where the domain is visible in searchable text, or a rule or color-category workaround, depending on the account type.

• If you only need a few specific senders, create separate Conditional Formatting rules for each sender address. 
  • Go to View > View Settings.
  • Select Conditional Formatting.
  • Select Add.
  • Select Font, then choose Red.
  • Select Condition.
  • In the From box, enter the sender’s name or full email address.
• If the domain appears in the subject or message body, use a keyword-based Conditional Formatting rule.
  • Go to View > View Settings > Conditional Formatting.
  • Add a new rule and choose your font color.
  • Select Condition.
  • Use Search for the word(s) and enter the domain text, such as gmail.com.

• If your goal is visual grouping rather than true Conditional Formatting, use Color Categories instead. 
  • Color categories are displayed in the Inbox and can be assigned to email messages. Please note that IMAP accounts do not support assigning categories.

• If you need automatic handling by domain, consider using a rule instead of Conditional Formatting.

For Classic Outlook, please create a rule using specific words in the sender’s address for a domain such as gmail.com.
