Microsoft Store wont let me select a Folder

The store wont let me select a folder. I click the "Change folder" button and select my folder, but it never shows my folder as selected and when I try to download something it shows that no folder is selected image_2026-06-17_132008075

I understand how frustrating it can be when Microsoft Store is not saving the installation folder you select, and downloads cannot proceed because the folder remains unselected.

Before we proceed, I would like to clarify a couple of things:

Does this happen with all apps/games in Microsoft Store, or only a specific download?
Is the folder you are selecting located directly on drive D:, or inside another folder with custom permissions?

Ive only tried it with the minecraft launcher but in settings is where it wont let me select a folder The folder is located directly in my D: drive

Thank you for your response. Please try the steps below to see if the issue is resolved:

Repair Microsoft Store

Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps

Find Microsoft Store

Select Advanced options

Select Repair

If the issue persists, select Reset

Run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter

Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters

Run Windows Store Apps

Re-register Microsoft Store

Open Windows Terminal (Admin)

Run: Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach { Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppxManifest.xml"}
