Suspension of account

Account suspension and gift card or Microsoft Rewards issues cannot be resolved from this forum or by browser (Edge) settings. Only the appropriate Microsoft support channels can review and act on a suspension.

For a suspended Microsoft account (cannot sign in):

1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com and try to sign in.
2. If the account is locked, follow the on-screen instructions to get a security code and unlock the account. Any phone that can receive SMS can be used for the code.
3. If the sign-in page shows a link starting with aka.ms/ (for example, an account reinstatement form), select that link and complete the form. A Microsoft Online Safety agent will review the request and reply by email. Do not submit multiple forms, as that can delay the response.

For a suspended Microsoft Rewards account or missing gift card:

1. If the issue is specifically with Microsoft Rewards (points, redemptions, gift cards ordered from Rewards), contact Microsoft Rewards Support using the form at https://rewards.bing.com/support. They are the only team that can investigate and possibly lift a Rewards suspension or help with a Rewards gift card order.
2. If the form is greyed out, the suspension is permanent and further appeals cannot be submitted.
3. For questions or disputes about Microsoft gift card purchases or account balance usage (outside of Rewards), contact Microsoft Customer Support as described in the gift card terms.

If the Microsoft account itself has been suspended or closed for violating the Microsoft Services Agreement or Terms of Use, Microsoft may suspend or terminate access to the account, Rewards, or gift card redemption. In such cases, refunds or access to promotional balances or unredeemed gift cards may be limited as described in the gift card terms.
