latest powerpoint update cannot display graphs on Mac OS Sequoia 15.7.4

Hi,

My powerpoint got updated on June 9th automatically and since then I have not been able to see graphs on it. We use Origin to plot graphs and copy and paste them as a pic in ppt but now we cannot see graphs in powerpoint. It is funny, we can see the axes, but not the plots. Do we need to go back to older ppt version to be able to see graphs again?

If I export the figures as PNG and then paste in Word or PPT, the images display fine, but we lose the resolution offered by the direct copy-paste figure, which is in vector format. I understand that there are many researchers using OriginLab figures in Word and PowerPoint, so please help us solve this issue as soon as possible via a newer update. Thanks very much!

My office is experiencing similar issues. I am using MS Word (Version 16.110.3 (26070318) and PowerPoint (Version 16.110.3 (26070318) on macOS, and since a June update, I have not been able to see the figures we copied and pasted from Origin Lab (see attached Figure). If I export the figures as PNG and then paste in Word or PPT, the images display fine, but we lose the resolution offered by the direct copy-paste figure, which is in vector format. What is the exact PowerPoint/Office version that you are currently using after the June 9 update?
Instead of copying and pasting, have you tried exporting the chart as a file from Origin? If not, you could try exporting the chart as a PNG and then inserting it into PowerPoint to see if that solves the problem.

Yes the problem is occuring due to the recent update in ppt. the version I am using is: Version 16.110 (26061317). For the past 15 years, we have been able to plot our data using various s/ws - Sigma Plot, Excel, Origin etc. When we have graph in Origin, we just copy it and paste as a PIC file in powerpoint. We have been able to see all the graphs this way thus far. Only once about 7-8 yrs ago, there was a similar glitch where the graphs were broken and there was an update in ppt to correct it. I am waiting for a similar update this time as well. My colleagues using graphpad prism to plot graphs have also seen the problem. That said, when I export the graph from Origin as a pic file, it works fine. However, we have a ton of data that we have already plotted using the paste as pic function in PPT. we would need to replot a LOT (hundreds/thousands) of data if this problem is not rectified in ppt. I have the same problem as well, up until las month i could see all graphs and now I can't show any graph that is not in Photo format.

This is a big issue, I need to go over all the results presentations and to work on them from the start fabrication new figures. More over I can't share the data with other associates for collaboration.

Hi I am using ppt Version 16.110 (26061317). My iMac OS is Tahoe 26.5.1. Yes if I export from Origin as PNG then I can see it on ppt. However, we have hundreds of data which were not exported from origin. Instead we had just used "Edit->copy page" function from Origin and pasted as "Paste Special -> PICTURE Enhanced Metafile" in powerpoint. All those data we cannot see any more in PPT. Before the June 9th update we could see all the graphs.

Based on your information, the version 16.110 is the latest Office for Mac package as of June 16, 2026. Since the issue happens after the update, it's likely that there is a compatibility issue in the latest PowerPoint version related to rendering regression, especially with Enhanced Metafile while using PNG still works properly. I have researched through Microsoft product help and other official information sources but up to now, there is no help article or announcement found and also no troubleshooting guidance addressing this issue.

Therefore, I greatly recommend reporting this issue directly to Microsoft so they can acknowledge this issue. The more users who report it, the faster they will prioritize a fix, especially with Office for Mac, as it receives hotfix/update package for quality and performance improvements (from what I can see, it's usually around 7-14 days). You can submit feedback to the product team through in-app feedback: PowerPoint > Help > Feedback.

Also, to prevent any trouble and inconvenience this issue may affect your workflow, I recommend you contact your IT department and ask for their help to rollback PowerPoint to previous builds where the graphs show up properly like 16.109.x or earlier. After rollback, you would also request to disable Microsoft AutoUpdate to prevent your device may automatically update to the problematic version.

Hi, Same problem. It appeared briefly earlier this year, was fixed and then appeared again.

Needless to say there are probably myriads of users that combine Origin with MacOS Office who can no longer see their old graphs in their Powerpoints or Word files. So it's not a minor issue.

An intermediate solution is to work in Windows Office with Parallels, where the same graphs ARE visible.

Strictly speaking this means that Office for MacOS is not compatible with Office for Windows violating Microsoft's advertising claims.

I hope that the team at MS addresses this issue sooner rather than later.
