I tried opening PowerPoint but I got the message the application was corrupted. So, I deleted the app. How do I re-install a fresh PowerPoint?

To reinstall a fresh copy of PowerPoint for Mac:

    1. Close all Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote) if any are open.
    2. Open Finder and go to the Applications folder.
    3. If any Microsoft Office apps remain (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), control‑click each and choose Move to Trash so the suite is fully removed.
    4. Open a web browser (for example, Safari) and download PowerPoint again using the official Microsoft link:
    5. Once the download finishes, open the installer package and follow the on‑screen steps to install.
    6. After installation completes, start PowerPoint and sign in or activate it with the same Microsoft account or license previously used.

If PowerPoint is part of an Office suite (for example Office 2019/2021/2024 for Mac), instead of installing just PowerPoint, download the appropriate full Office installer for the product and install from there (for example, Office 2024 for Mac Installer, Office 2021 for Mac Installer, Office 2019 for Mac Installer, or Office 2016 for Mac Installer), then activate with the existing license.

    Hey,

Before I drop the instructions I need to know a bit more about your setup since there are a few different ways Office is handled.

How exactly did you delete the app? Like did you fully uninstall Microsoft Office from your system settings or did you just trash the desktop shortcut?

If you have only deleted the program in the Applications folder, that won't fix anything. Here are the steps to do a complete uninstall of Office. Then reinstall from the Subscriptions page of your Microsoft account.
