Hello,

I have this unusual problem that happens occasionally, but I haven't found any behavior key that I can use to fix it. When I have my headphones connected to my phone and use Phone Link, if I dial a number through the app, I sometimes can't switch between the call on my PC and my phone (this happens until I restart my computer). When this happens, I can't make calls using the headphones, only using the phone (the headphones are connected to my phone). Thanks in advance for all the answers.

    Hi Radovan Kováčik,

I understand how frustrating it is when Phone Link’s PC call setup fails and forces a restart whenever it's stuck. From my personal experience, this seems more like a Bluetooth profile limitation than a misconfiguration on your part:

    • Phone Link relies on Bluetooth to connect your phone and PC
    • Your headphones already hold the Bluetooth link to your phone.
    • It's normally idle so nothing interferes, but when you start a call:
      • Your phone, PC, and headset all try to use the same audio path.
      • The PC attempts to take control, but the headphones push back.
    • Bluetooth supports one audio path per call best, so mixing devices can sometimes cause confusion.

To test this, try using wired headphones. If the issue disappears, we’ve identified the cause, and that setup may be the most stable option. If you still prefer to stay on Bluetooth, consider trying these recovery steps to see if any of them can help you avoid restarting the entire PC every time:

    1. Toggle Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > turn Bluetooth OFF > wait a few seconds > back ON.
    2. Restart Bluetooth service: Press Win + R > enter services.msc > find and right-click Bluetooth Support Service > Restart.

Because the Bluetooth stack doesn’t always handle mid‑call switching reliably, avoiding device changes during calls tends to give the most consistent experience.
