In Outlook.com or Outlook on the web, a sent message generally cannot be undone or recalled once it has left the server.

    For Outlook.com (personal accounts like @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, @msn.com):

    • Message recall is not available. Once the email is sent, it cannot be pulled back.
    • The only mitigation is to enable Undo send, which delays sending for a few seconds so it can be canceled before it actually goes out.

To set up Undo send in Outlook.com for future messages:

    1. At the top of the page, select Settings (gear icon).
    2. Select Mail > Compose and reply.
    3. Under Undo send, choose how long Outlook.com will wait to send messages (5 or 10 seconds).
    4. Select Save.

After this is enabled, each time a message is sent, an Undo send prompt appears at the bottom of the message list for the duration selected. Selecting Undo during that window cancels sending.

If the message has already been sent and the undo window has passed, it cannot be undone or recalled in Outlook.com.
