Academic verification and student offers like Azure for Students or student ambassador programs require:

    1. A valid Microsoft account
    2. Successful academic verification using an eligible institution and email

Based on the context, take these steps:

    1. Confirm sign-in works for the Microsoft account
      • If sign-in fails or shows generic errors, use the Sign-in Helper tool to detect and fix account issues.
      • If the password is forgotten, reset it using the official password reset flow.
    2. Ensure the account is a Microsoft account
      • If using a college/university email, it must be set up as a Microsoft account.
      • If it is not, create a Microsoft account with that address. See the guidance under Azure Dev Tools for Teaching: students must have a Microsoft account, and university emails can be used to create one.
    3. Link the university email to an existing Microsoft account (if needed)
      • If there is already a personal Microsoft account (for example, used for Xbox or Outlook.com), add the university email as an alias:
        1. Go to the Microsoft account center.
        2. Select Your info.
        3. Select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
        4. Select Add email and add the university email address.
      • After this, sign in to student offers using the same Microsoft account that now has the university email attached.
    4. If academic verification fails repeatedly
      • In similar academic verification issues, users have succeeded by choosing the option to "verify in a different way" when offered, then carefully re-entering accurate information so the automated verification email can be processed correctly.
      • Ensure the same Microsoft account is used everywhere (sign-in, verification form, and email confirmation) and that the school email is verified.
    5. If the institution is not recognized or still fails
      • The context does not list supported institutions or manual document options. If verification still fails after confirming the above, contact the program’s official support channel (for example, via the help/contact link on the specific student/ambassador program page) so they can check eligibility and institution support.

These steps ensure that the Microsoft account and academic email are correctly configured and verified, which is required before applying to student-focused Azure or ambassador programs.
