I purchased a new IPad 13, connected it to my home Wi-Fi and get a message on some apps that say not connected to to the internet. I have rebooted my Wi-Fi and still no internet for some applications.

On an iPad, some apps reporting “not connected to the internet” while others work usually indicates either:

    • A Wi‑Fi connectivity issue (weak/unstable signal, interference), or
    • App‑specific/network‑specific problems (e.g., DNS or sign‑in issues).

Try these steps focused on Wi‑Fi quality and basic network checks (they apply regardless of device type):

    1. Check Wi‑Fi status and signal
    • Make sure the iPad shows it is connected to the correct Wi‑Fi network.
    • Move closer to the wireless router/access point.
    • Avoid obstacles like thick walls, metal cabinets, or placing the router under a desk. If possible, place the router more centrally and higher up.
    • If other wireless devices (like cordless phones or microwaves) are near the router, move them away or turn them off to reduce interference.
    1. Verify the network itself is working
    • On another device (PC/phone) connected to the same Wi‑Fi, run a browser and confirm multiple websites load.
    • If other devices also have issues, the problem is likely with the router or internet connection; rebooting the router/modem again and checking with the ISP may be required.
    1. Check for weak or unstable Wi‑Fi
    • If apps work only intermittently, the signal may be too weak. Strengthening the Wi‑Fi signal (moving closer, repositioning the router, or using a Wi‑Fi extender) can improve reliability.
    1. Try a different network
    • Connect the iPad to another Wi‑Fi network (e.g., a mobile hotspot) and test the same apps.
    • If they work on another network, the issue is likely with the home Wi‑Fi configuration (signal, interference, or router settings) rather than the iPad or apps.

If the problem persists only in specific apps (for example, Microsoft Edge or other Microsoft apps) while other apps work fine on the same Wi‑Fi, it may be related to how those apps reach online services (DNS or service‑side issues). In that case, testing on another network and ensuring the Wi‑Fi connection is strong and stable are the key supported steps.

    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Can I confirm what Microsoft applications are affected and what exact error appears when you open them. Also, can you include a screenshot of the error when you open the application.
