    Video files have two formats: the container format (.mov or .mp4) and the encoding format (H.264, as mentioned by the bot). Both formats need to be compatible with PowerPoint for the video to play correctly. As one example, video shot on iPhones is encoded by default with HEVC/H.265, which is not compatible with PowerPoint. You can convert the video to H.264 using free online convertors.
