Bonjour,

Follow these steps to troubleshoot Clipchamp not opening (black screen) on Windows:

    1. Verify hardware and free space
    • Ensure the PC meets Clipchamp requirements: at least 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended), 64‑bit CPU/OS, and a recent graphics card.
    • Check that the system drive has more free space than the total size of the video files used in projects; low disk space can prevent Clipchamp from loading or exporting correctly.
    1. Try the web version instead of the desktop app
    • If the desktop app shows only a black screen, use Clipchamp in a supported browser (Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome).
    • For personal accounts, open https://app.clipchamp.com.
    • Keep the Clipchamp tab in the foreground while working and especially when exporting.
    1. Update and clean the browser (if using web Clipchamp)
    • Use the latest version of Edge or Chrome.
    • Clear the browser cache for All time, selecting only Cached images and files, then restart the browser (e.g., by typing edge://restart or chrome://restart in the address bar).
    • Close other tabs and applications to free memory and GPU resources.
    1. Check Edge/Chrome security and extensions
    • In Edge, if Added security or strict tracking prevention is enabled for Clipchamp, turn off tracking prevention for app.clipchamp.com, then reload the page.
    • Whitelist Clipchamp in any ad‑blocker, privacy, or translation extensions, or temporarily disable extensions, then restart the browser and test again.
    1. If still blocked on desktop app
    • Install or update the Clipchamp desktop app from Microsoft Store if needed.
    • If the desktop app continues to show a black screen but the web version works, continue using the web version; it is functionally equivalent for video editing.

If projects are stored in OneDrive and access issues appear, sign in to OneDrive (https://onedrive.live.com/?view=1&gologin=1), then reopen Clipchamp so permissions refresh.
