BTC/USD HAS STOPPED WORKING IN EXCEL

BTC/USD quotes in Excel rely on online data sources for the Stocks data type. If a specific symbol (like BTC/USD) stops working or becomes “unrecognized,” it typically means the online provider has changed or removed that instrument, or the mapping Excel used is no longer available. In that case, the symbol may not be searchable or refreshable until the provider restores it.

To check and work with stock/crypto data in Excel:

1. Enter the ticker or name (for example, the asset name) in a cell.
2. Convert it to a Stocks data type (Data tab → Stocks) if available.
3. Click the stock icon in the cell or press Ctrl+Shift+F5 to see all available fields.
4. If Excel shows text instead of an icon or says it can’t match the entry, correct spelling or use a different keyword and choose from the selector pane if one appears.

If BTC/USD no longer appears or can’t be recognized, then that specific pair is currently not available from Excel’s online data source. In that case, use another supported instrument or function such as STOCKHISTORY (if it returns data for another BTC-related symbol) as a workaround, or wait for the provider to restore the pair.
