Why Doesn’t the Profile QnA Section Have a Sorting Option? Further, it displays in ascending order.

In the Microsoft Learn portal’s Profile QnA section, I’ve noticed there is no option to sort questions (e.g., by most recent). To find my latest question, I have to scroll through multiple pages until I reach the end, which is time-consuming and inconvenient.

This design makes it difficult for learners to quickly locate their recent activity. Ideally, the Profile QnA section should provide sorting or filtering options (such as newest first, oldest first, or by relevance) to improve usability.

Is there a reason why sorting is not available, and could Microsoft consider adding this feature to enhance the learner experience?

Have you tried looking at Activity instead? It is sorted by most recent first.

Sorting and filtering options are available on the Microsoft Q&A site itself (Questions and Tag details pages), but not in the Microsoft Learn profile’s Q&A activity view.

On Microsoft Q&A:

  • Questions can be sorted by Updated (default), Created, or Answers using the Sort by dropdown on the Questions or Tag details pages.
  • Questions can be filtered by All, No answers, Has answers, No answers or comments, With accepted answer, My content, and Questions I follow using the Filters pane.
  • On an individual Question details page, answers can be sorted by Most helpful (default), Newest, or Oldest; accepted answers always appear directly under the question.

However, the provided documentation does not describe any sorting or filtering controls for the Q&A section inside the Microsoft Learn profile, nor does it give a design rationale for their absence. The only profile-related prerequisite mentioned is that being signed in is required to use the My content filter on the Q&A site.

Given the available information, the behavior observed in the Learn profile (no sort option and ascending display) is by design, but no official reason is documented. To request improvements such as sort order (newest/oldest) or additional filters for profile Q&A activity, feedback should be submitted through the Microsoft Learn support and feedback channels referenced in the Q&A and Learn documentation.
