The new rewards dashboard was good, but the way of redeeming points were much complex and difficult to, i can't redeem any of the rewards on my 2 accounts in which really needed to be verified either using the mobile app or using a mobile number(in which i couldn't add). can someone help me to fix either the CAPTCHA verification since it shows verification failed/scan error, or manually adding phone number in the account(in which i can't find in my account info, literally there is no button to add number).

For Microsoft Rewards redemption issues with CAPTCHA and phone verification, the supported fixes focus on phone/SMS verification and common blocking conditions.

    1. Fix phone/SMS verification so redemption can proceed
    • Ensure a valid phone type:
      • A mobile phone or landline number is required.
      • Voice over IP (VoIP) numbers are not permitted for Microsoft Rewards or verification codes.
      • If a VoIP number is currently used, replace it with a non‑VoIP mobile or landline number.
    • Avoid repeated attempts:
      • Too many failed verification attempts can trigger a temporary block where codes or verification may fail.
      • If there have been many unsuccessful attempts, wait up to 48 hours before trying again.
    • Check for region and network issues:
      • Rewards points must be redeemed in the same region as the Microsoft account and not while traveling in another market.
      • Do not use a VPN or proxy; these can cause the system to treat the sign‑in or redemption as suspicious and block verification.
      • If there is heavy compromised traffic from the current location, verification codes and checks may be delayed or blocked until Microsoft automatically clears the risk.
    • Household/phone‑number limits:
      • A single phone number can only be associated with up to 6 Microsoft Rewards accounts per household.
      • If that limit is reached, use a different mobile or landline number.
    1. Handle CAPTCHA/verification failures
    • Repeated CAPTCHA or “verification failed/scan error” issues can be caused by the same protection systems that block or slow verification when unusual activity or high‑volume requests are detected.
    • Reduce repeated attempts in a short time window; repeated failures can extend or renew the block.
    • If blocked, wait (up to 48 hours or longer if necessary) before trying again, and ensure no VPN/proxy is in use.
    1. When phone number options are missing or verification still fails
    • If the account cannot receive verification codes or add a valid phone number, or the CAPTCHA continues to fail after waiting and removing VPN/proxy, use official support paths:
      • For Microsoft Rewards redemption issues (including not being able to redeem, verification failures, or invalid codes), use the Microsoft Rewards support options referenced in the Rewards help articles.
      • For general verification code issues (e.g., “we cannot send a text message to this number”, “try another verification method”), follow the guidance in the verification‑code troubleshooting article and, if still blocked, use the sign‑in helper and Contact Support options described there.

Note: Support agents cannot send verification codes or directly change account security details; they can only guide through supported recovery and verification flows.

    Hi,

The Captcha depends mostly on your IP address. If the IP reputation is bad, there will be multiple captchas. Also, in addition cookies make a difference.

    Can you:

    1. Restart the Browser
    2. Try an Inprivate Window in the Web browser

And see if it resolves the issue?

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.
