To track Excel and Power BI learning as a single place to start each time, use a Microsoft Learn Plan built from a Collection and then add the Excel/Power BI content into that plan.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Sign in and create a Collection
      • Sign in to Microsoft Learn with a profile (required to create and manage Plans).
      • Find the Excel/Power BI content to learn. For example, a learning path like “Empower modern analytics and business intelligence data cultures with Excel, Power BI, MS Teams, and SharePoint” contains three modules:
        • Automate data cleaning with Power Query
        • Introduction to foundations in data modeling
        • Design interactive data experiences with Power BI Desktop
      • Add the content you want into a Collection (see “Create and manage Microsoft Learn Collections” in the referenced article).
    2. Convert the Collection into a Plan
      • Go to the Collections page under the Learn profile.
      • Choose the Collection that contains the Excel/Power BI modules.
      • Use the option to copy the Collection to a Plan. When the plan is created:
        • The Collection title, description, and section descriptions are copied into the Plan.
        • Sections in the Collection become Milestones in the Plan.
    3. Edit the Plan for Excel/Power BI learning
      • In the Plan edit mode, optionally add:
        • Learning outcomes (for example, “Build interactive Power BI reports” or “Use Power Query to clean data”).
        • Days to milestone to recommend how many days to spend on each milestone.
      • Reorder or rename milestones to group Excel and Power BI topics the way that works best.
    4. Add more Excel/Power BI content into the Plan
      • Open any additional Excel or Power BI module or learning path on Microsoft Learn.
      • Select the + icon on that content.
      • Go to the Plans tab, choose the Plan created for Excel/Power BI, and select Save.
      • Repeat for all topics to keep them in one Plan.
    5. Use the Plan as the starting point every time
      • After publishing the Plan, open Microsoft Learn, go to the profile, and open the Plan.
      • Start or continue learning from the Plan; progress is tracked as modules are completed.

This way, all Excel and Power BI topics are organized in one Plan that can be opened each time to continue learning.
