I do not knowingly breach Community Guidelines but now, when I try to post a comment I get told session timed out, sign in, and every time I sign out and try again I get the same block message. Why does this happen.

The behavior is caused by how the specific community or comment system handles sign‑in sessions and moderation, not by Windows 11 or Microsoft Edge itself.

For Microsoft‑hosted communities, there are two common patterns in the provided context:

  1. Session or sign‑in issues on Microsoft Q&A / Learn
    • A user can appear logged in (profile picture visible) but still get a “session has timed out, login to comment” error when submitting a comment.
    • This is a platform/session problem on that site, not censorship; the recommended action is to use that site’s own help or feedback channel. For Q&A, moderators direct users to the correct support area for the site in question.
  2. Comment blocking or account restrictions on MSN/Feedback portals
    • Some Microsoft sites (MSN comments, Feedback Portal) use automated moderation and risk‑based blocking. Users can suddenly see that they are blocked or that posts are rejected as not following guidelines, even when the content seems normal.
    • In these cases, the block is enforced by that site’s own moderation/abuse‑prevention systems, and the only supported way to challenge or review it is to use the Feedback or contact option built into that specific site.

In practice, when a sign‑in loop or “session timed out” error appears but the profile still shows as logged in, the resolution depends on which site is being used:

  • If it is Microsoft Q&A / Learn, post a question in the appropriate Q&A area (as in the examples) so moderators can redirect to the correct support channel for that site.
  • If it is MSN article comments, use the Feedback link at the bottom of the MSN page to report that comments are being blocked or that the session error appears.
  • If it is the Microsoft Feedback Portal, and access is blocked, moderators advise creating a new Microsoft account and posting feedback about the block in the Feedback Portal’s own feedback forum.

Because the error and blocking are controlled by the individual site’s authentication and moderation systems, they cannot be fixed from Edge or Windows settings; they must be addressed through that site’s feedback/support path.
