In OneNote, Copilot button is greyed out and features not available

I'm licensed with a MS365 premium subscription and my account details are correct in OneNote, but the Copilot button at the top of the OneNote ribbon is greyed out and I cannot use copilot in OneNote. This is OneNote on Mac, and also applies to my iPad devices (iPad Air M3 and iPad mini).

What I have checked so far as well:

OneNote About shows the correct account.
The same account shows an active Microsoft 365 subscription and Microsoft Copilot Pro.
I refreshed the licence successfully.
OneNote then re-synced the notebooks.
Microsoft AutoUpdate says the apps are up to date.
Connected Experiences / privacy settings are enabled.
I created a brand-new notebook under the same account and the Copilot button still stayed greyed out.
Copilot works in Word under the same account.

Further, I've attempted logging out of and then backing OneNote. I've also tried uninstalling OneNote, rebooting, and reinstalling OneNote on my Mac. How do I open a support case for investigation and problem resolution to the product/service I've subscribed to?

Copilot in OneNote not yet supported on Mac/iPad or license mismatch (Pro vs M365 Copilot).

Try below:

Check supported apps/platform
- Copilot in OneNote is limited and not fully available on Mac/iPad yet.
- Test in OneNote (Windows desktop or web) → if it works there, it’s a platform limitation.
Verify correct license
- Copilot Pro ≠ full Copilot for Microsoft 365 (enterprise)
- OneNote Copilot often requires M365 work account + Copilot for M365 license
Sign into the correct account
- Ensure same account with license is used (work/school vs personal mismatch is common)
Check admin enablement (if work account)
- Admin must enable Copilot for OneNote

I used it when I first purchased Microsoft 365 Premium in March, but it is now greyed out. I also spoke with customer service today, who stated that it should be working fine, although I saw a note above one of the many Microsoft screens I had to go through to get to a representative, that Microsoft was having an issue with CoPilot on MAC OS
