Exam Escalation Blocked – Pearson System Failure

I am extremely frustrated with Pearson’s exam center. I was blocked from writing my scheduled exam because the system would not allow me to proceed. It has now been three days with no feedback, and when I call I’m told the system is down or to check back in a few days.

To make matters worse, I cannot even rebook—the system error states: “The candidate currently has an open registration for this exam. A new registration cannot be created at this time.” This has left me completely stuck and unable to move forward.

Escalations through Pearson don’t seem to help. How can Microsoft ensure that candidates receive proper service from Pearson, given that these delays directly impact our ability to complete certifications critical to our careers?

Microsoft uses Pearson VUE as the authorized delivery provider for certification exams, but Pearson VUE manages scheduling systems, test centers, and operational issues such as the one described.

For the specific blocking message and inability to rebook, the supported path is:

    1. Work only through Pearson VUE for the stuck registration
      • The error about an open registration is controlled entirely by Pearson VUE’s system. Microsoft cannot clear or override Pearson VUE registrations directly.
      • Continue working with Pearson VUE support until the existing registration is either completed, cancelled, or released in their system.
    2. Use Microsoft’s certification support channels when Pearson VUE issues block progress
      • If Pearson VUE issues (such as ERROR_VUE_WIDE_BLOCK or other account-level blocks) prevent scheduling, the documented guidance is to contact Pearson VUE support via the link provided on the Microsoft Certification Support page: https://aka.ms/CertificationSupport.
      • If Pearson VUE has blocked the account (for example, due to multiple failed payments), this must be lifted by Pearson VUE before any new registration can be created.
    3. Escalate via Microsoft Certification Support when Pearson VUE cannot resolve
      • When Pearson VUE support and escalations are not resolving the issue, raise it through Microsoft Certification Support so a moderator or support agent can review and coordinate with Pearson VUE as needed. The same support entry point (https://aka.ms/CertificationSupport) is used in similar cases documented for scheduling errors and account blocks.
    4. Reschedule or cancel once the registration is released
      • After Pearson VUE clears the stuck registration or block, use the Microsoft certification dashboard to reschedule or cancel the exam as needed, in line with the standard reschedule and cancellation policy.

This combination—Pearson VUE support for registration/system issues and Microsoft Certification Support (via the documented support entry point) when Pearson VUE cannot resolve—constitutes the supported way Microsoft ensures candidates receive service and can proceed with certification exams.
