Custom Metrics and 30-Day Report Showing Only 28 Days of Data

I'm looking for a way to generate a Teams meeting usage report that includes custom metrics such as the meeting organizer's UPN, attendee UPNs, meeting frequency by month, and average meeting duration. Is this level of reporting available through Teams Admin Center, Microsoft Graph, or another supported reporting API?

Additionally, when exporting meeting reports from Teams Admin Center and selecting a 30-day date range, the report only contains 28 days of data.

Hi Fukumioka

Based on my research, there are several options that may partially align with your requirements. You may review the resources below to determine which one fits best for your scenario.

  • Get meetingAttendanceReport - Microsoft Graph v1.0 | Microsoft Learn
    • This API can retrieve the attendance report for an online meeting or supported virtual event after the meeting/session ends. It can return meeting start/end time and participant count, and through the related attendance records, it can provide attendee-level details such as attendee identity/email, role, total attendance time, and join/leave intervals. This may help if your main requirement is to report on who attended a specific Teams meeting and how long they attended.  Note: This is mainly for a specific meeting/report scenario, not broad tenant-wide analytics. Also, Microsoft documents limitations/behavior differences for channel meetings, so it should not be presented as covering all Teams meeting types without qualification.
  • Working with the call records API in Microsoft Graph - Microsoft Graph v1.0 | Microsoft Learn
    • The Call Records API provides usage and diagnostic information for calls and online meetings in Microsoft Teams. This option may be more suitable if the requirement is broader reporting across Teams calls/meetings, especially for usage, adoption reporting, diagnostics, or call-quality troubleshooting.
  • Announcing Call Record Insights for Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Community Hub
    • Call Record Insights is a Microsoft-published application template designed to simplify working with Teams call records. According to Microsoft, it helps automatically retrieve call records, flatten complex call record data into a structured format, and store the transformed data in Azure Cosmos DB and Kusto/Azure Data Explorer for analysis and dashboards. This approach may be helpful if you are planning to build a more scalable and customized reporting solution.

I hope this provides additional insight and helps you evaluate the available options for your scenario.
