When using the Bing search operator "site:", Bing returns completely unrelated websites instead of pages from the specified domain.

Examples:

Query:

site:microsoft.com

Expected Result:

Only pages from microsoft.com should be displayed.

Actual Result:

Results are returned from unrelated domains such as zhihu.com, typerclub.org, and other websites not associated with microsoft.com.

The issue occurs with multiple domains, including:

site:microsoft.com

site:google.com

site:(removed by Moderator)

Google Search returns the correct results for the same queries.

Environment:

  • Browser: Microsoft Edge
  • Search Engine: Bing
  • Windows 10
  • Issue affects multiple websites and makes the site: operator unusable for SEO and indexing checks.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Bing.com
  2. Search for site:microsoft.com
  3. Observe that unrelated domains are returned instead of Microsoft pages.

Please investigate the Bing search operator behavior.
