Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Frank,
It’s not fully clear whether this is a Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) mailbox, a personal Microsoft account (Outlook.com), or another account type (such as IMAP or POP) configured in Outlook. If you can clarify this, more targeted guidance can be provided.
That said, you can try the following general checks:
- Ensure the mailbox is not full, as this will block incoming messages.
- Check for rules that may automatically move or delete messages. Also review "Other" tab if "Focused Inbox" is enabled.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/focused-inbox-for-outlook-f445ad7f-02f4-4294-a82e-71d8964e3978 - Check out junk email and blocked senders to verify messages aren’t landing in "Junk Email", and confirm expected senders/domains aren’t blocked.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/block-or-allow-junk-email-settings-48c9f6f7-2309-4f95-9a4d-de987e880e46 - Check Deleted Items, Archive, or any other custom folders.
- Test in Outlook on the Web (https://outlook.office.com) to isolate client vs. service if applicable.
- Ensure connection status in Outlook shows "Connected to Microsoft Exchange" (or similar), and try "Send/Receive > Update Folder".
- Recreate the Outlook profile (Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles) in case of sync corruption.
- If this is an M365 mailbox, an admin may also run a message trace to confirm whether emails are reaching the service.
If possible, include whether all senders are affected or only specific ones, and any bounce-back (NDR) messages, as that will help narrow down the issue quickly.
