Windows wont activate after a clean install

I have just done a full clean install on my pc and i am getting this i originally had windows 10 and did an upgrade will i need to do a fresh install of that instead

Where did you licence originate when you were using Windows 10.

Was it part of the free upgrade form Windows 7 or 8.

Did you buy the licence yourself separate from the hardware.

Was the licence provided by the system builder.

Is the system branded or a custom build.

It was a custom pc i had built in 2019 windows 10 home (64 Bit Edition) was pre installed

If it was pre-installed by the system builder and you paid for a licence they should have fixed a licence label to the case that has the Windows 10 product key.

Do you see any labels affixed to the case anywhere?

If not and there is no mention of a licence on the invoice they may have used a hack to activate windows. You should contact the builder to check the licence supplied.

Error 0x803FA067 means Windows 11 cannot find a valid digital license or product key for this device.

Since the device was previously activated (Windows 10 upgraded to Windows 11), a digital license should normally reactivate automatically after a clean install, as long as:

The same edition is installed (e.g., Windows 11 Home if the license is for Home).
The hardware has not changed in a way that requires a new license (for example, OEM license tied to an old motherboard).

Steps to try:

Confirm the correct edition is installed
- Go to Settings > System > Activation and check that the edition is Windows 11 Home if that matches the original license. If the wrong edition is installed, reinstall with the correct one so the digital license can be used.
Run the Activation troubleshooter
- In Settings > System > Activation, select Troubleshoot.
- If a valid digital license for a different edition is found, the troubleshooter will guide through installing the correct edition.
Enter a valid product key if available
- If there is a 25‑character product key (from a prior retail purchase or COA), select Change product key on the Activation page and enter it to activate.
If activation still fails
- If the device originally came with Windows preinstalled and significant hardware changes were made (such as a motherboard replacement), a new license may be required.
- If the license was a digital license from a previous upgrade and none of the above works, contact Microsoft support so they can check the account and reactivate if eligible.
