Is There a Way to Change the Default View in the Edge PDF Viewer?

Every time I open a PDF in Edge, it's zoomed way in and I have to manually click set the view to "Fit to Page". There must be an option to set the default zoom. If not, please add this feature as I believe pretty much every user will want to have this option.

Thank you!

    Hi,

Microsoft Edge does not currently offer an option to set a default zoom level specifically for the PDF viewer. The zoom setting available in Edge applies only to websites and does not affect the built in PDF viewer. However, its default behavior ,according to this article, should remember and restore the last viewing state, including the zoom level, when you reopen the same PDF.

That said, have you tried zooming out the PDF, closing it, and then reopening it to see if the zoom level is retained?

I understand your frustration, especially as someone who also uses the PDF viewer regularly. That said, have you tried opening a standard PDF document (not a drawing) to see whether it opens normally?Since the file in question is a drawing, it's possible that the original content has very large dimensions. When it's converted to PDF and opened in Edge, the viewer may automatically zoom in or scale it differently to accommodate the document's size. Unfortunately, Edge doesn't have an option to set default zoom level as the viewer only offers basic functions. If you want to suggest this as an option, it is better to submit it to them directly by pressing Alt+Shift+I or through the Feedback Portal.
