A cloud-based identity and access management service for securing user authentication and resource access
IP geolocation corrections for Microsoft services, including Microsoft Entra ID sign-in logs, are handled only through Microsoft support channels, not via forums or documentation.
To request correction of the geolocation for subnet 165.99.148.0/24 (from India to Taipei, Taiwan) so that it is reflected properly in Microsoft Entra ID sign-in logs, create a support ticket through the appropriate admin/support portal for the tenant. In the ticket, include:
- The full IP range: 165.99.148.0/24.
- The current incorrect country shown in Microsoft Entra ID sign-in logs.
- The correct country/region: Taipei, Taiwan (TW).
- Evidence of the correct registration, such as:
- APNIC WHOIS output showing
country: TW. - The authoritative geofeed entry for this prefix.
- APNIC WHOIS output showing
- A brief description of the compliance impact on customers.
The support team can then engage the appropriate internal teams (such as data protection or networking/GeoIP data owners) to update Microsoft’s internal GeoIP data. Once updated, the change will propagate to services that rely on this data, including Microsoft Entra ID sign-in logs.
If the tenant is business-critical impacted (for example, compliance blocking access), classify the ticket with appropriate severity when opening it.
