Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls
Hello @Somnath Mahato,
Thank you for sharing the details of your issue. I understand how frustrating it can be when your microphone works fine in other apps but not in Teams.
To help me better understand your setup, could you please let me know which device or headset model you are currently using? I would like to check whether it is listed as fully supported with Teams. If you have access to another microphone or headset, it would also be helpful if you could try connecting it and see whether the same issue occurs.
Additionally, could you please check a few items below on your side?
1. Check Teams audio settings
Please go to Settings > Devices in Teams and confirm that the correct microphone is selected. After that, try using the “Make a test call” feature to see if your voice is being detected there. This will help confirm whether Teams is able to recognize your microphone input.
2. Check Windows microphone permissions
Kindly verify that microphone access is enabled at the system level. You can do this by going to Windows Settings > Privacy > Microphone, and ensuring that “Allow apps to access your microphone”, “Allow desktop apps to access your microphone” and Microsoft Teams are turned on.
3. Test using Teams on the web
If possible, could you try signing in and joining a meeting via the Teams web version: https://teams.microsoft.com
This will help us determine whether the issue is specific to the desktop application or not.
Once you’ve had a chance to go through these checks, please share the results with me. Your update will help me better understand the situation so we can continue troubleshooting together and find the best solution for you.
Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
