The message "You don't have permission to view credits" indicates that the account is not assigned to the Azure subscription where the credits are applied, or does not have a role that allows viewing billing/credit information.

For Microsoft for Startups credits specifically:

    1. Azure credits are tied to a single Azure subscription owned/managed by one or more admins in the startup, not to every team member automatically.
    2. Being added as a team member in Microsoft for Startups does not grant access to that Azure subscription or its credits.
    3. Until added to the startup’s Azure subscription with an appropriate Azure role, the portal will not show the free credits and will display a message that access is not permitted.

    To resolve this:

    1. Identify who in the startup activated the Azure credits or manages Azure billing/access (often the founder or primary admin).
    2. Ask that person to add the user to the startup’s Azure subscription using Azure role-based access control (RBAC). They must follow the role assignment steps described here: Steps to assign an Azure role - Azure RBAC | Microsoft Learn.
    3. After the user is granted access to the subscription, the credits and related usage details will appear in the Azure portal, and the user will be able to view and use resources according to the assigned role. No additional activation is required on the user’s side.

If the user is already on the correct subscription but still cannot see credits, the subscription owner or billing admin should verify that the user’s role includes permission to view billing/credits.
