How do I stop OneNote app from automatically signing me in on android Samsung phone

OneNote on Android can pick up a Microsoft account saved on the phone itself, not just inside the OneNote app. On Samsung phones, the account may also be linked through Samsung account services, so OneNote keeps finding it again.

Besides the solutions provided by the Q&A Assist, here are some suggestions you can try:

First, check whether the Microsoft account is stored in Android settings. Open Settings, then go to Accounts and backup, Manage accounts, and look for the Microsoft, Outlook, Office, or Exchange account. If you do not need that account on the phone, remove it from there. It is suggested that this is the main place Android keeps accounts for auto sign-in.

Next, check the Samsung account link. Go to Settings, tap your Samsung account name at the top, then look for Linked accounts or Apps and services, and unlink Microsoft if it appears there. On some Samsung phones, this link can keep Microsoft services connected even after reinstalling OneNote.

After that, clear OneNote’s saved app data before reinstalling it. Go to Settings, Apps, OneNote, Storage, then choose Clear data and Clear cache. Then uninstall and reinstall OneNote.

Before clearing data, make sure all notes are already synced and visible at https://www.onenote.com, because clearing app data removes local app information from the phone.

If the phone is shared or going for repair, also use a strong screen lock, because OneNote’s current Android sign-in behavior is designed around single sign-on rather than asking for the password every time.
