Unable to install Claude Add In

I'm trying to install the Claude Add in. However it keeps saying "You don't have permission to use this add-in. Contact your system administrator to request access."

My microsoft account isn't under an organization. It was bought personally. Please help.

I am having the same issues as of 29th of May with the excel add-in working fine before that. I should mention it is only the excel add-in that is not working, Powerpoint and Word add-in is. I am on personal M365 account with latest updates. Thanks!

I am experiencing the same issue with no fix after spending 10+ hours with the Microsoft support team remotely trying to resolve. Using personal 365 account. No work credentials under windows credentials. Full PC reset, reinstall, clearing credentials etc etc has not resolved the issue,

3 days ago was all good- now I can not download any add-ins. I did everything to fix it - even contacted Microsoft support - they don't know what to do and just sent me a link to write something on this page. very unprofessional.

I have been continuing to have this issue with absolutely no resolution. I have no problem getting it when Im on the web, or when I've signed out of my account. It's only when I'm signed into my personal account that it keeps blocking me from getting the add-in. I am not sure how it's even possible for me, the sole owner and administrator of my MS account, to not have administrator access to my own account... that's like not being able to download a game on my own personal desktop computer...

Hi Zent,

This is super strange, although we have a few reports. Though MS office is your Personal subscription but may I know if a Work or school account is added in Settings > Accounts > Access Work or school?

Moreover, are you using Office 2016/19/21/24 or 365?

Additionally, Please open Credential Manager > Windows /Web credentials, do you see any Work account credential listed?

Does your Claude have a paid plan attached to the account?

Check with the manufacturer's support site at https://support.claude.com/en/articles/12650343-use-claude-for-excel .

Exactly. The add-in from Perplexity has the same problem too

Okay have seemed to have found a work around although must be done each time you open an excel workbook:

Open excel signed into your account
File>Account>Sign Out
Create a new work book or open an existing workbook
Find and install the add in
Log into your add in whilst still signed out
Now sign back into your Microsoft account

I am also having this issue, and yes, signing out and adding the add-in whilst signed out works, as soon as I sign back in (you know, to actually be able to use the app), the add-in stops loading... so this really isn't a solution.
