Account changes for Sea of Thieves or PSN IDs cannot be performed. Email addresses and sign-in IDs for Microsoft accounts and game services can only be managed by the account owner through the official account pages.
To proceed, manage the email/alias on the Microsoft account that Sea of Thieves is using, then sign in with that account on PS5:
- Identify which Microsoft account is linked
- When launching Sea of Thieves, note which Microsoft account/email is shown on the sign-in screen.
- If unsure, use the Microsoft account recovery options to find or recover the correct account:
- Use Recover your account and try known email addresses or phone numbers.
- Recover or sign in to that Microsoft account
- Go to the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the Recover your account flow:
- Enter the email, phone, or Skype name.
- Choose where to receive the security code.
- Enter the code and set a new password if needed.
- Go to the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the Recover your account flow:
- Change or add the Gmail address as an alias (if desired)
- Once signed in to the correct Microsoft account, go to Manage how you sign in to your account.
- Add the Gmail address as an alias if it is not already used on another Microsoft account.
- Optionally set it as the primary alias.
- If the Gmail address is already used on another Microsoft account
- It may already be an alias or sign-in ID on a different Microsoft account. Use the alias and recovery guidance to locate that account.
If sign-in still fails or the correct username cannot be found, contact Microsoft Support using the account recovery support options.
