Information about the Windows Insider Program and how to connect to it is available on the official Windows Insider site and in Windows settings.
To get started:
- Register for the program
- Go to the Windows Insider Program website and Register with a Microsoft account (the same one used for services like email, Microsoft 365, or OneDrive).
- Accept the Program Agreement and Privacy Statement and submit. This completes registration.
- For organizations, registration can also be done with a Microsoft Entra ID work account through the Windows Insider Program for Business page.
- Connect a Windows device to Insider builds
- On Windows 11:
- Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program.
- Select Get Started.
- Select Link an account and choose the account used to register for the Insider Program.
- Choose an Insider channel and select Continue.
- Review the agreements and select Continue.
- Select Restart now (or restart later) to begin receiving Insider builds.
- On Windows 10:
- Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program.
- Select Get Started.
- Select Link an account and choose the account used to register.
- Choose an Insider channel and select Confirm.
- Review the agreements and select Confirm.
- Select Restart now to start receiving Insider builds.
- On Windows 11:
- For developers or businesses
- Developers can follow the “Get started with the Windows Insider Program for Developers” guidance, which also begins with registering a Microsoft account.
- Businesses can register for the Windows Insider Program for Business using a Microsoft Entra ID work account to manage Insider Preview builds across the organization.
Once connected, feedback and participation can be managed through the Feedback Hub app, which is included in Windows.
