Unable to export or print part of Excel spreadsheet

I'm encountering an issue with Excel where I'm unable to export or print any documents. The error message I receive is: "Something went wrong, and we can't print your workbook." I have had excel on my IPad Pro for a few years now and it’s only just started.

Please could someone advise.

Many thanks

Jill

On iPad, this error commonly occurs when the workbook is in a file format that the mobile Excel app does not fully support, especially for password‑protected files.

To work around this, use a Windows PC (or Mac with full desktop Excel) to resave the workbook in a supported format, then try again on the iPad:

    1. On a computer with desktop Excel, open the problematic workbook.
    2. If the file is password‑protected, enter the password so it fully opens.
    3. Select File > Save As.
    4. In Save as type, choose .xlsx (or another format supported on iOS such as .xlsx, .xlsm, .xlsb, or .xltx).
    5. Save the file and sync or copy it back to the same location the iPad uses (OneDrive, SharePoint, iCloud, etc.).
    6. On the iPad, reopen this newly saved file in Excel and try to print/export again.

Note: When changing formats, some version‑specific features or formatting may not be preserved.
