Issue Description: We are currently facing an issue where multiple ADF pipelines are remaining in the Queued state for an extended duration during 5/29 refresh process. Pipelines that normally complete within a few minutes are now queued for more than 2 hours.

We attempted mitigation steps including cancelling and rerunning the pipelines; however, rerun executions are also getting queued. Multiple streams/workloads appear to be impacted by the same behavior.

Due to this issue, scheduled data refresh activities are delayed/paused, impacting downstream reporting and dependent processes.

Observed Impact:

  • Significant delay in pipeline execution
  • Multiple refresh streams impacted
  • Downstream reports/data availability delayed

Mitigation Attempted:

  • Cancelled affected pipeline runs
  • Re-triggered pipeline executions
  • Monitored Integration Runtime and pipeline health

Please look into this issue and provide the further steps.

Thanks

Hi @Shruti Rastogi (Maq LLC)

This behavior was due to a transient issue in the region, which caused some Azure Data Factory pipeline runs to remain in the queued state for longer than expected during the refresh window. The issue has since been mitigated, and pipeline executions should now be proceeding normally.

As part of ongoing improvements, the engineering team is continuously enhancing detection and recovery mechanisms to better identify such situations earlier and minimize impact on incoming requests.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. If you observe similar behavior again, please feel free to reach out so we can engage the Product team on priority.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
