Gamepass canceled unexpectedly, chat bots not connecting me with a human agent
I paid for a monthly subscription to gamepass. Last night I turned on the xbox to play the games I purchased through the Microsoft Store, and was unable to access them because I wasn't connected to live. I logged onto Microsoft .com and tried to look up my subscription history on my account, and nothing came up. Not even for the games that I purchased a week ago. I did select the past 7 year option too.
I bought the gamepass again on laptop, just so I could play a bit, but it was still saying that I had not subscribed even though my card was charged. I signed out and back into Microsoft and it did show up on my subscription history that I had just made the purchase. I then signed out then back into the xbox, restarted the xbox, restarted my wifi and none of it worked.
This morning when I went to log in everything is working as it should, but now Ive paid twice for the gamepass and have been offered no explanation as to why this happened. Every chatbot that I get connected with says it's a payment issue, yet my card had not even been attempted to be charged, nor did my bank deny any payment. Im reluctant to request a refund because I'm not sure if they will cancel my current gamepass subscription again.
I spent the past several hours trying to find a way to connect with a representative to find a resolution to this issue, yet the only thing that I have been connected with is chatbots. When I asked the chatbot to connect me with a person, it had me repeat my issue and demand 7 times before gibing the option to 'request a call' 'resolve issue on my own' or 'chat with a representative'. When I chose request a call, it populated a new chatbot, who tried to load for several minutes before producing an error code and stating that this service was not available. When I chose to chat with a representative, it had me reiterate the entire issue, and then spent a considerable amount of time waiting for someone to respond to my questions, before that chatbot closed out the window, leaving me to retype the question and try again. It never connected me with a live agent and kept kicking me off.
When I looked up the customer service number that Microsoft does provide, and what other article on this Q/A have provided links to- it connected me with yet another bot, who when I requested to speak with a person asked me what my issues was. When I gave a brief explanation, the bot said to resolve the issue on the website through the 'billing' questions page before telling me to have a nice day and hanging up on me. When I called back to try again, it answered with 'any billing questions you have may be directed to the website, have a great day' and then the call drops. This has been every, single, call. I tried to call one of the other numbers but the same exact message played on each of them. Why have multiple numbers to the same chatbot?
