I produce a weekly Sway newsletter and have for the last 2 years or so.

I opened sway this morning it was fine - duplicated and edited last week's, then had to restart my computer due to a different ongoing issue with Microsoft Edge.

When I logged back on all sways after Feb 24th, 2026, to now are missing. I managed to get last week's by finding an old edit invitation link, but it doesn't recognise me as the author and I am able to create new ones.

There's no error code, nothing in the deleted, they are just gone.

    Hi @Em H

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and sorry to hear the data loss occurred.

I understand your concern and would like to let you know that when the Sway file is suddenly deleted and you cannot manage to find those content via Recycle bin.

So, I would like to suggest you to immediately contact the IT admin of your Office 365 organization and request them to create a new service request from the Office 365 admin center, so that related development team will check whether the deleted Sway file can be restored (because completely deleted data may only be recoverable for a limited period of time after the deletion occurs).

Note: Please don’t delay and create a new service request from the Office 365 Admin Center so that the team can try to restore the missing content.

Reference: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

Note: To create a support ticket, you need to have admin privileges and if you aren’t the admin of your Office 365 organization, please contact the admin of creating a new ticket.

I hope you find this information helpful. Although I’m not able to assist further directly from here, I do hope that the troubleshooting steps and checks provided will help you move closer to recovering your missing files.
