Update the phone number on the GroupMe account so the PIN is sent to the correct number, then retry the action that requires the PIN.

On Android:

Select the profile picture.
Tap Edit profile.
Tap Edit.
Tap the pencil button next to the phone number.
Enter the correct phone number and tap SEND PIN, then follow the on-screen instructions.

On iOS:

Select the profile picture.
Tap Edit profile.
Tap Edit.
Tap the phone number field.
Enter the correct phone number and select Get PIN, then follow the on-screen instructions.

On Windows:

Select the avatar (profile picture).
Select the pencil button, then Change your Phone Number.
Select Change Number.
Enter the correct phone number, select Send PIN, then follow the on-screen instructions.

On the web:

Sign in to the GroupMe account in a web browser.
Select the avatar (profile picture).
Select Edit next to the current phone number.
Enter the correct phone number and select Submit, then follow the on-screen instructions and complete PIN verification.

If the PIN still does not arrive at the correct number after updating it, contact GroupMe support for assistance.

When you select the Forgot password option on the screen, are you prompted to enter your phone number?

After entering the number, Microsoft usually sends a password reset link to your email instead of a verification code.

Step 1:

Visit the link here on your desktop or in any web browser - https://web.groupme.com/signin

See your email address for the password reset link.

Note -

If you are trying to reset your password on your Phone, the Reset PIN will be sent to both your email address and the phone number associated with your account. Please check your email to see if you have received the verification code there as well.
