Use one of these options to reconnect with a live Microsoft support agent:
- Use the Get Help / Contact Support flow
- Open the Get Help app on Windows (type Get Help in the Start menu search and open it).
- Type Chat with an agent and press Enter.
- Select Contact support at the bottom.
- Choose the product and service that matches the issue (for example, Windows or Windows Server) and follow the prompts.
- When offered, choose Chat with a support agent or Call me back to speak live with a technician.
- Use the online Contact Microsoft Support site
- Go to the main Microsoft Support entry point such as Contact – Microsoft Support or Contact a Microsoft support agent.
- Sign in with the account associated with the product.
- Select the relevant product category (for example, Windows or Microsoft 365 for business if applicable).
- Enter a brief description of the problem and select Get Help.
- If self-help options don’t resolve the issue, choose Contact Support, then select Chat or Call me back.
- For Visual Studio subscription technical support benefits (if applicable)
- Ensure a Contract ID and Access ID are available from the Visual Studio subscription benefits.
- Sign in to the Support for business portal at the URL provided in the subscription documentation.
- Select the product and issue details.
- Choose the support type, enter the Access ID and Contract ID, and complete the steps to submit a new incident so a support engineer can contact back.
If the previous session was disconnected and there is no callback, starting a new support request using one of the methods above is required to get reconnected to a live technician.
