Managing tabs, address bar, and search settings in Edge on older Windows versions
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
In the upper right-hand corner of my Edge page, the prompt "Switch to a new look" appears. I do not like nor want the new look. I turned the toggle off, but my Weather icon no longer appears. The "Solution" tells me to go to "Appearances" and turn of the toggle "Try the new look and feel of Microsoft Edge"; however, this toggle does not exist under "Appearances" in settings. All I want to do is regain my weather icon and keep the previous version of Edge.
How do I get my Weather icon back? I wish Microsoft would stop forcing these changes.
Managing tabs, address bar, and search settings in Edge on older Windows versions
The Weather icon reappeared and has again disappeared on my Edge page since I first posted on this issue. I have tried all the suggestions. None of them work. I have had the weather icon enabled throughout this process. What I see now is "Switch to a new Look," which is constant. I am not interested in the "new look." Do any of the Microsoft support people out there have an explanation? My sense is that the disappearing weather icon is deliberate in an attempt to coax users to get the "new look." It is a minor issue but increasingly annoying.
Hi,
Did you enable weather using the Gear icon?
I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.
I have the weather enabled in settings but the weather icon will not appear. Only "try a new look."
Thanks.
If you clear all browsing data including cookies and cache, from edge://settings/privacy/clearBrowsingData, does it help?
I tried all the "AI" suggested answers, but the icon still does not appear. I always had the icon until the latest Windows Update. Then I lost it. This is a Microsoft problem. I did not change my settings.
