Defender UWP App: "Something went wrong" on Credit Monitoring (Isolated to specific Local Profile)
Details: Hello, I am experiencing a persistent state-sync bug within the standalone Microsoft Defender app on Windows 11.
Whenever I click on Credit Monitoring or Dark Web Monitoring, I instantly receive the error: "Something went wrong. Wait a bit then try again." This has been happening for over two weeks.
Issue Isolation (Why this is a Local Profile Bug):
- Web Dashboard: Works perfectly.
- iOS/Android App: Works perfectly.
- Other PCs: My wife and son's Windows 11 PCs on the same home network have no issues.
- Conclusion: My account/subscription is fine, and my network is fine. The issue is strictly localized to a corrupted auth token or cached state within my specific Windows User Profile on this specific machine.
Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken (Please do not suggest basic reinstalls): I have already attempted to clear the local state using the following methods without success:
- Standard uninstall/reinstall and sign out/sign in.
- "Deep" App Reset and Repair via Windows Settings > Installed Apps.
- Cleared relevant tokens from the Windows Credential Manager.
- Ran
wsresetto clear the Store cache. - Used PowerShell to re-register the app:
Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.SecHealthUI -AllUsers | Reset-AppxPackage
I have also submitted an ETL diagnostic trace via the Feedback Hub so engineering can see the exact API failure: https://aka.ms/AA115qrq
