Progress issues in the “Where you stand” bar and leaderboard are known behaviors in Microsoft Learn challenges.
Based on the documented behavior:
- Ensure that the modules were completed while signed in with the same Microsoft Learn profile that was used to join the challenge. If different accounts or profiles were used, the completions will not count toward that challenge’s progress.
- Be aware that the leaderboard and “Where you stand” section do not update in real time. They can take a few hours to refresh after modules are completed.
- If progress still shows 0/8 after some time, treat this as a Learn platform issue rather than something that can be fixed locally. Use the official troubleshooting and support channels:
- First, review the Microsoft Learn troubleshooting guidance for training issues.
- If the problem persists, report it through the Microsoft Learn troubleshooting page so the Learn support team can investigate the specific challenge and account.
There is no client-side fix for retroactively forcing the challenge status bar to recalculate progress; only Learn support can correct the challenge state if it failed to register completions correctly.
