Dear Azure Support Team,

I am writing to urgently request a one-time billing waiver and assistance with clearing active resources on my account.

I recently completed a cloud training program with TechCrush, where I used this account for learning purposes. At the conclusion of the course, I attempted to delete all deployed resources to avoid charges. However, I received a billing notification indicating that services are still active and incurring costs. I sent an email some week back to ******@mail.support.microsoft.com but I did not receive any response. Charges on the account are usually under $5 when I set it up initially so I really do not understand how my costs racked to that amount. If you check the profile, you will notice I didn’t log into the profile during that period.

As an entry-level student with no current income from these cloud deployments, I cannot afford this invoice. I kindly request the following:

A one-time credit or waiver for the unexpected charges incurred on this subscription.

  • Immediate termination and deletion of all running Virtual Machines (VMs), storage accounts, and associated services, as I am having difficulty locating and stopping the specific resources causing the billing spike. I think I have done this but kindly help me check in case I missed some resources.

I am committed to managing my cloud footprint responsibly moving forward. I will implement strict cost management alerts and ensure all resource groups are thoroughly deleted after future practical sessions.

Thank you for your understanding and assistance in resolving this matter.

Sincerely,

Aziz Olaide Kafayat

Billing waivers, refunds, and subscription-specific investigations (including checking which resources are still running) can only be handled by Azure billing support engineers with access to the subscription and invoices.

To request a one-time credit/waiver and help with stopping all billable resources, create a free billing support request from the Azure portal:

    1. Go to Help + support in the Azure portal or open this link: https://portal.azure.com/#blade/Microsoft_Azure_Support/HelpAndSupportBlade/overview
    2. Select New support request.
    3. For Issue type, select Billing.
    4. Select the affected subscription (for example, the subscription ID provided).
    5. For Problem type, choose Refund Request or the closest billing/charge option.
    6. In the description, clearly state:
      • That the subscription was used for training/learning.
      • That resources were believed to be deleted but charges continued.
      • That a one-time courtesy credit/waiver is requested.
      • That assistance is needed to identify and stop/delete any remaining billable resources.
    7. Complete Additional details (include subscription ID and relevant dates) and submit the request.

Billing and subscription support is available 24x7 and is free. A billing engineer can:

    • Review the unexpected charges and determine whether a credit/waiver is possible.
    • Help identify any remaining chargeable resources and guide through stopping or deleting them.

If the subscription is already disabled due to non-payment, still use the same Billing support request path; billing support can assist with past-due balances and disabled subscriptions.

For future use, to avoid similar issues:

    • Use Cost Management + Billing → Cost Management → Cost analysis to monitor charges.
    • Set budgets and alerts so that notifications are sent before costs grow unexpectedly.
