How to access viewers of OneNote files in SharePoint

I have turned on SharePoint viewers for my site.
I can see how many people have accessed most files, I can even see a list of the most recent users.

For OneNote files, I cannot see this at all.

I know OneNotes are different to regular files but is there a way to see how many people have viewed it and who, similar to how I can do with PowerPoints?

You cannot see the people who are looking at your OneNote files now.

OneNote notebooks are different from PowerPoints.

OneNote notebooks do not show you who is looking at each file in SharePoint.

Microsoft is working on an update that will be ready, by mid-March 2026.

This update will include OneNote in the numbers that show how many people are looking at your site and what they are looking at.

You will see how many people are looking at your OneNote files. You will not see the names of the people who looked at them.

You will only see the number of people who looked at your OneNote files.
