Request to Update Registered Email for Certification Account

Certification records cannot be directly “moved” from one Microsoft Learn profile to another, but it is possible to:

1. Add additional email addresses (aliases) to the same Microsoft account / Learn profile, and
2. Link multiple login accounts to a single Microsoft Learn profile so certifications are managed together.

Use the following approaches depending on what is needed.

1. Add a personal email to the existing Microsoft account (alias)

If the goal is to sign in with a personal email but keep the same underlying account and certifications:

1. Go to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft: https://account.live.com/names/manage.
2. Sign in with the account that currently holds the certification(s).
3. Select Add email and add the personal email address.
4. Complete the verification process.
5. (Optional) Set the personal email as Make primary so it becomes the main sign-in alias.
6. Remove the old email alias only after the new one is added and verified (you cannot remove a primary alias without another alias present).

This keeps all certifications under the same certification profile while allowing sign-in with the personal email.

2. Link login accounts to a single Microsoft Learn profile

If certifications or training progress are split across different sign-in identities, link them to one Learn profile:

1. Sign in to the preferred Microsoft Learn profile (the one that should hold all certifications) using the desired personal email.
2. Follow the guidance to add login accounts to your Learn profile so that other work/school or personal accounts are linked to this single profile.
3. Once linked, certification and training progress from those accounts are surfaced under the one Learn profile.

Note: Direct transfer from one Learn profile to another is not supported; profiles can be linked and merged instead.

3. If the issue is specifically with Microsoft Certification records

4. Ensure communication and sign-in settings are updated

After adding the personal email and/or linking accounts:

• Update communication preferences and email for notifications in the Learn profile settings so future certification emails go to the personal address.
