Hello Azure for Startups Support,

I applied for the USD 5,000 Azure for Startups credits about two weeks ago. However, my account still shows the message:

“Credits may take 24 hours to appear after redeeming.”

The credits have not appeared yet, even after waiting much longer than 24 hours.

Could you please help me check:

  • whether my application or redemption was processed successfully,
  • if there are any issues with my account,
  • and what I should do next?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best regards,

KitYin Pow

Azure for Startups credits can take up to 24 hours to appear after activation, so in this case the normal waiting period has already passed and further checks are needed.

First, confirm that the credits were actually activated (not just the application submitted):

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups Portal.
    2. On the homepage, ensure the “Activate Azure” flow was fully completed:
      • "Link Microsoft account" was selected.
      • The correct Microsoft account was chosen and Activate was clicked.
      • Complete Azure sign-up was finished, including adding a payment method.
    3. After successful activation, management and tracking of credits is done in the Azure portal. Credits may take up to 24 hours to appear on the account balance.

If activation was completed more than 24 hours ago and credits still do not show:

    1. Use the Microsoft for Startups Portal to verify and manage your benefits and Azure credits.
    2. If the portal still shows the “Credits may take 24 hours to appear” message after this extended period, open a support request so the program team can check the status of the application and redemption:
      • Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups Portal.
      • Select the "?" icon in the top-right corner.
      • Select "Submit a Support Ticket".
      • Include details such as company name, the date the activation steps were completed, and screenshots of the message shown.

The Microsoft for Startups support team can then:

    • Confirm whether the Azure credit offer was activated successfully.
    • Check for any account or billing issues preventing credits from appearing.
    • Advise on next steps specific to the startup’s enrollment and subscription.
