Role-based and specialty certifications are still valid for one year; that policy has not changed.

The reason the Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert certification in this case shows an expiration of July 2027 is that this certification was earned in July 2025, and then renewed (via the free online renewal assessment) before its first expiration. Each successful renewal extends the certification by one additional year from the current expiration date. As long as renewal is completed before expiry, the certification’s validity date keeps moving forward.

Key points from the current policy:

• Role-based and specialty certifications are valid for one (1) year from the date all requirements are completed.
• A free online renewal assessment can be taken starting six months before the expiration date.
• Passing the renewal assessment extends the certification for one more year.
• If a certification expires, it cannot be renewed; it must be re-earned by passing the required exam(s).

So the one-year validity rule still applies; the later date reflects renewal, not a change to the base validity period.
