HLK May Refresh Release for Windows 11, Version 25H2: Static Tools Logo Test FAIL

My Development:

OS: Windows 11 25H2

VS2022+WDK 10.1.0.6584

HLK: 10.1.26100.8328

 

I download HLK May Refresh Release for Windows 11, Version 25H2.

Then create device driver test, will test failed with Static Tools Logo Test.

Error: CodeDL DVL version minimum required 1.2.0.0, but latest WDK 10.1.0.6584 still include dvl version is 1.1.0.0

I have also been informed that this is a known issue with the current HLK/WDK combination. The issue is being worked on, and a fix is expected in a future HLK refresh.

    This is a known issue in the latest HLK and WDK that is being worked on. A fix will be released in a future HLK refresh.

    HLK release new filters for this issue utile 2026-08-31.

    Hi @Kokei Chang ,

    The error seems to be related to the DVL file version used by the Static Tools Logo Test.

    For Windows 11, version 25H2, I would suggest regenerating the DVL by following the current CodeQL guidance for driver certification. Microsoft lists the 25H2 WHCP tool versions as CodeQL CLI 2.20.1, microsoft/windows-drivers pack 1.8.0, and microsoft/cpp-queries pack 0.0.4 in Run CodeQL Analysis on Windows Driver Code. The Static Tools Logo Test also uses the DVL file to read the CodeQL/static analysis results, so the DVL generation path is the first thing I would check here: Static Tools Logo Test.

    After creating the new .DVL.XML file, copy it to %systemdrive%\DVL on the HLK test machine, remove any old DVL files from that folder, and run the Static Tools Logo Test again.

    If the same DVL version error still appears, please share the dvl.exe path/version, the output of codeql --version, and the Static Tools Logo Test log section that shows the DVL version check. That should help confirm whether the DVL is being generated with the expected 25H2 toolchain.
